Tucson’s HVAC Heroes. Family-owned since 2006.
If the air conditioner quits on a Tucson afternoon — or at 11 p.m. when the house is still holding heat — you do not need a sales pitch. You need someone who picks up, tells you what happens next, and sends a tech.
Serrano’s Heating & Cooling LLC is a local, family-owned shop. We repair AC systems across Tucson and the surrounding Pima County communities. This page is for emergency AC — no cool, weak cool, a unit that will not start, or a system that is leaking, icing, or making the kind of noise you should not ignore.
Standard hours: Monday–Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Emergencies: we take those 24/7.

When the AC dies in Tucson heat
This is desert heat. When the system stops, the house does not stay comfortable for long — especially with kids, older family, pets, or anyone who cannot wait until Monday morning.
We answer for AC emergencies, we aim for same-day help when possible, and we do not tack on an after-hours rip-off fee. You get a clear estimate before we start the repair.
If the unit is making a burning or electrical smell, shut it off at the breaker and call. Do not keep resetting a breaker that trips every time the outdoor unit kicks on.
After hours, weekends, and the middle of the night
Most AC failures do not wait for business hours. That is hy we keep a 24/7 emergency line.
Call (520) 201-3865. Tell us what the system is doing (no cool, warm air, water on the floor, ice on the copper, a loud start-up, a dead thermostat). We will tell you whether this is a roll-now emergency or something we can book in regular hours. Honest either way.

What we treat as an AC emergency
These are AC problems we treat as emergencies. Any of them can become an after-hours call in July or August.
No cooling / unit won’t start
Outdoor fan still, compressor quiet, thermostat calling for cool and nothing happens. Could be a capacitor, contactor, breaker, or something bigger. We diagnose on site. We do not guess over the phone and then invent a price.
Warm air, ice, or water where it shouldn’t be
Blowing warm air, a frozen evaporator coil, or water inside or outside the air handler. Low refrigerant is a leak until we find it — we find and fix leaks; we do not treat a “top-off” as the job.
Noise, burning smell, or a breaker that won’t hold
Strange noises or vibrations, a burning smell from the vents, or a breaker that trips when the AC starts. Shut the system down if it smells like wiring or the breaker will not hold. Then call.
We work on the brands we work on :American Standard, Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, Trane, and York — and we service other equipment people already have in Tucson homes. Licensed in Arizona (ROC #221198). Technicians are EPA 608 certified. /p>
How a call works
- You call (520) 201-3865 or submit the contact form and choose Emergency Service.
- We get the address, the symptom, and whether anyone is in a bad spot (no cool in extreme heat, water in the house, smell of burning).
- A tech is dispatched. We give an honest estimate before we start the repair. No surprise “emergency” markup.
- Most visits we can finish on the same trip when the part is on the truck. If it is not, we say so.
We show up. We do the work.
If the honest answer is replace, not repair, we will say that too — and you can start an estimate at: Installations & Estimates or Online Estimates.
